MISSION STATEMENT

Beekin will go into the world and, through the medium of music that is relevant to the secular music industry, use Christian crossover lyrics to convey a message of hope in Jesus Christ. Using personal testimonies and the power of the Holy Spirit, Beekin will be a humble, relatable group of individuals. In their public and private lives, Beekin members will live as righteous, living examples of Jesus Christ so that others may see their light and praise the Father in Heaven (Matthew 5:15-16).

THE STORY OF BEEKIN

JOHN 6:39-40 – “And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

In the Summer of 2000, Erick Wilson was playing drums for a band, well-known in Texas, called Modern Day John. During his time with this band, God spoke to him and started to reveal the plans he had for Erick’s life. Though he was fighting and not wanting to believe these plans were true, Erick finally let go and decided to follow God. Throughout that summer, God revealed the following verse to him:

MATTHEW 22:37-39 – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, Love your neighbor as yourself.”

When Erick became a Christian, God gave him the gift of drums. That gift was hard to let go of when God called him out of playing the drums. What God called Erick to do next was to be the lead singer of a Christian crossover band whose mission was to go into the world and be an example of Christ through the way they lived their lives.
Modern Day John was a very talented group of individuals who were going places and the band was on the verge of making it big in the Christian Rock market. While Erick wasn’t keen on giving that up to start a band and be back at square one, he took that leap of faith and followed God’s plan.

Erick’s move brought forth “Beekin”, a Christian crossover band whose sound represents the modern rock of the secular music industry with it’s own flair. They’ve created a new sound that people want to hear, with influences ranging from Linkin Park and Nickelback to Three Days Grace, and several others. Their #1 focus as a ministry is to be servants to other people by showing them what love really is.

CALLED TO LOVE:

As believers in Christ, we are called to love one another as we love ourselves and we are drawn to do the will of our Father in Heaven. For this purpose, this band has been created. (Col 3:23-24)
God laid a calling on our hearts to go into the world and reveal his love through our actions and words so that all may look to the Son, believe in Him and have eternal life.

We are called to…

• Testify of the love of God off stage by relating with the people in our audience through our testimonies and actions of being love.
• Minister with life excerpts and testimonies on stage when led by the Holy Spirit.
• Have a straight and narrow walk so that little fault may be found within us.
• Focus on an intimate, personal, and everlasting relationship with our creator and Heavenly Father. (Mat 22:37-38)
• Minister to each other as a group by edifying each other in our faith and our walk. (Mat 22:39)
• Just as Matthew 25:14-30 speaks of the servants given talents by the master, we are called to take our talents and multiply them and give them back to God.

We are called to love.
